Ideas on chore lists/incentives

No matter what you do or how you go about it your children will not like to do chores, but if you make it fun and creative it may make it some what easier.

TREASURE CHORES

Make it fun and creative, tell your child today is treasure day, this is how it works

Lets say your child has to clean there room by putting clothes away, making bed,and to pick up toys, tell them for every job accomplished they will be handed a clue (write a hint of what the treasure is).then they sould be getting more excited.so when they finish there next job in there room hand them another clue (could be a hint of the treasure or about where it could be),then when they finish up the room make it fun, tell them what room the treasure is in and for them to go search for it but if they make a mess they will lose the treasure. You can choose any treasure you want for your child, could be a snack or toy or they can pick a coupon from the earnings box (I will explain the earnings box later on in this blog).

This is a fun and exciting game for kids but at the same time there chores are getting done. Parent and child both get what they want.

Chore List

When it comes to chore lists you are the one who knows your child best. There are several ways to make a chore list.

Decorated Chore List

Grab a poster board and make it fun.

1. Make there names on the poster board with colored marshmellows.

2. Use liquarish around the boarder of the board.

3. Use colored markers when writing on the chore board.

Just get creative and make them want to do what they need to do so they can mark off on there chores.

Depending on the child make sure that you are alternating chores so it wont be the same ol thing day in and day out, may keep them from dreading it so much.

Ask them what they think should be on the chore list, get them involved, let them know there opinions are wanted. It will make them feel special and they will want to get in there and do it.

Just remember to be creative and fun and your child may see doing chores as a better thing well…hopefully lol
